(Not just the dancers). In the auditorium.<\/p>\n<h3>Friday-Sunday, November 11, 12, 13, 14 &#8211; Production Dates.<\/h3>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">***Please see the Mamma Mia Information Packet or the Mamma Mia Google Calendar for more detailed information.&nbsp; Once the cast is selected, important information will be sent through Google Classroom, Remind, and Skyward.***<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For any role in the cast (lead or ensemble) the audition includes three parts: DANCING, SINGING, and ACTING.&nbsp; Auditions will resemble the format of those in the real world of professional musical theater!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Dance Audition<\/b><b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Wednesday, September 8 2:30-4:00pm<\/b><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everyone auditioning for a cast role must attend this audition.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We want to see how everyone moves!&nbsp; We will all learn the same routine- we understand that you are not all trained dancers.&nbsp; Don\u2019t panic!&nbsp; Just do your best and try to have fun.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wear comfortable clothes.&nbsp; Bring clothes and shoes to change into if needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Come to the stage, sign in, and get a number sticker for your chest.&nbsp; Be super positive!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Cast Singing\/Acting Audition Overview<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Wednesday, September 8 4:15-8:00pm<\/b><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sign up for a 5-minute solo audition on the ACTING\/SINGING AUDITIONS sheet on the Choir Room door of E105.&nbsp; Audition sign up will be available following the August 30th Informational Meeting.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your audition will take 5 minutes, but plan to be at school a half an hour early and allow time to stay later just in case we are running early or late.&nbsp; Use this time to warm up and get focused and calm.&nbsp; If there aren\u2019t any times left for you to sign up, email <\/span><a href=\"mailto:SarahStockton@wlcsd.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SarahStockton@wlcsd.org<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">see Mrs. Stockton in the choir room.&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>What to bring to your audition: SIX ITEMS<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>A typed RESUME <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with music, acting, or dance experiences that you have had.&nbsp; We will provide a template if needed.&nbsp; Focus on experiences that will benefit your career on our stage.&nbsp; Include any previous choir\/sing or acting experience, also any unusual talents you may have (juggling, walking on your hands, flips, accents, etc.)&nbsp; This is a way of showing us what you have done and who you are!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>A PHOTO of you.&nbsp; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It does not need to be a professional head shot picture, just one that shows your face.&nbsp; A school picture will do.&nbsp; When we see it, it must represent you <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as you are now<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. (Not what you looked like 3 years ago). <\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>A completed show application<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (attached).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>A completed Costume Deposit Contract <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(attached).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>A completed 3 page conflict calendar <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(attached).&nbsp; Please mark any of your conflicts on this calendar.&nbsp; Check with your parents!! (Doctor\u2019s appointments, dance class, sports, marching band, etc). Let us know what is unchangeable and what is flexible.&nbsp; Be as thorough as possible.&nbsp; This will help us create our rehearsal schedule.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>A clean copy of MUSIC<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the accompanist. Mark any cuts or changes clearly.&nbsp; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">See Mrs. Stockton in the choir room if you need help.&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>What to WEAR to your singing\/acting audition:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"2\"><b>Tops: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For most auditions, we recommend a<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bright solid color.&nbsp; Be professional so we can focus on your audition and NOT on inappropriate clothing choices.&nbsp; Not too tight as we don\u2019t want to see every breath you take.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"2\"><b>Bottoms: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For most auditions, black pants are the most professional.&nbsp; Jeans are not professional.&nbsp; Pants will be better than a dress, skirt, or shorts.&nbsp; Should you wear a skirt, it should NOT be short.&nbsp; For Mamma Mia specific auditions, do some research on the show to get the \u201clook\u201d!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"2\"><b>Shoes: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For most show auditions, we<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recommend no flip flops, sandals, and most sneakers.&nbsp; Character shoes are appropriate for many auditions.&nbsp; For Mamma Mia Auditions, something like a boat shoe or white Keds may be appropriate.&nbsp; Wear shoes that are comfortable and look clean and professional.&nbsp; It is a good idea to practice in them so your breathing is strong.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think about what you will wear underneath your clothes for the best support.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do the SIT-STAND TEST.&nbsp; Practice walking around, sitting down, and standing up.&nbsp; If you have to adjust any part of your outfit or your hair (we want to see your face), you should make some adjustments.&nbsp; Your choices in clothing and hair will also affect your desire to (or not to) fidget.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Part 1- Acting Audition<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perform a 30-60 second MONOLOGUE for us.&nbsp; Choose a monologue on your own from online sources OR from the packet that we have prepared for you.&nbsp; Your scene should be well prepared ahead of time.&nbsp; Memorized is best, but you may still audition if you are not.&nbsp; BUT don\u2019t just memorize the lines\u2026. Plan the blocking and acting part.&nbsp; Plan how to best TELL THE STORY to us.&nbsp; Make us want to see more- Don\u2019t forget to let your own personality shine through.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think through the story that happens right before your monologue begins.&nbsp; Have in mind both the FRONT story and the BACK STORY of your monologue.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Show us your best stuff!! BE CONFIDENT!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Part 2-Singing Audition<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will sing 16-24 measures of a prepared song by yourself.&nbsp; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It must be memorized!<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a jukebox musical which means all of the music is popular ABBA music!&nbsp; This is not traditional musical theater style.&nbsp; Try to pick a song that will fit your voice and part of our show.&nbsp; We recommend looking at pop music from the 70\u2019s, 80\u2019s and 90\u2019s.&nbsp; No current pop music please.&nbsp; Sell yourself to us!&nbsp; Mamma Mia is full of fun, upbeat characters so DON\u2019T BE SHY, TIMID, OR SCARED.&nbsp; It is better to do too much than not enough.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No a cappella songs allowed at the audition.&nbsp; You must sing with the piano player that we provide.&nbsp; We want to hear you match pitch with the piano while you are singing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bring a clean, easy-to-read copy of your music for the accompanist.&nbsp; No folded, wrinkled music.&nbsp; Meet the accompanist at the piano, quietly sing the first few measures so you can establish your tempo and style.&nbsp; You lead- the accompanist will follow whatever you do.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HINT:&nbsp; Practice in your bathroom at home in front of the mirror, record yourself, and watch it objectively.&nbsp; Are you just singing or can you tell a story with your song?&nbsp; Broadway is more than just a pretty voice- it tells a story.&nbsp; TELL US A STORY with your song.&nbsp; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is very important.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure to come into your audition WELL-HYDRATED.&nbsp; Start drinking water for at least 2 hours before your audition.&nbsp; All day long, drink water in preparation.&nbsp; Your vocal chords will thank you for this and will do their best for you if they have been well hydrated earlier in the day!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Try not to make excuses or tell us that you have been sick or didn\u2019t have time- Just do your best!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep going, no matter what!&nbsp; If you make a mistake- FAKE IT!&nbsp; It is worse to stop.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be polite.&nbsp; Say thank you.&nbsp; Make us think that working with you would be a fun experience.&nbsp; This is a family and we want to have a fun and positive experience.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you do not have music and need help, email <a href=\"mailto:SarahStockton@wlcsd.org\">SarahStockton@wlcsd.org <\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or see Mrs. Stockton in the choir room.&nbsp; We are here to help!&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IMPORTANT DATES for Cinderella (All of these meetings will be in the auditorium, unless noted.)
